David and House Hues did an amazing job on our 1892 home. The entire team is super nice and all are very professional. David was able to provide multiple color renderings so we would know exactly what we were getting. He and his team did an unbelievable amount of prep work and their attention to detail is astonishing. It was a lengthy process, but that is what makes his work top notch. We could not be happier with the end result. Our home looks better than it has in many years. House Hues is soon to paint the third house on our street…just showing that the quality of his work speaks for itself. David is great at communicating every step of the way. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him and House Hues!Posted on Google![]()

We couldn’t be happier with the transformation of our home! We had our brick limewashed by House Hues and it turned out absolutely stunning and exceeded our expectations. David and his team are incredibly talented and took the time to understand the look we were going for and brought our vision to life. The team was professional, detail-oriented, and a pleasure to work with. David was responsive, and genuinely cared about making sure we loved the final result. If you’re considering limewashing your brick or updating your home’s exterior (or refreshing the interior!) I can’t recommend them enough. The quality of their work speaks for itself.Posted on Google![]()

As an interior designer, I’ve had the pleasure of working with David and his team on a number of projects. Notably, including my own home, in which his team touched nearly every inch of our 8,000 sq ft house after it was completely rewired and plastered. David is my go-to painter, especially for historic homes—he knows plaster, intricate moldings, historic windows—so well. In painting, you are how you prep. David holds his team to exceedingly high standards when it comes to prepping walls (he has also done furniture for me), and the end results are proof of his dedication to his craft. He’s executed everything from high gloss to matte finishes, interiors and exteriors, for me and my clients. Highly recommend.Posted on Google![]()

House Hues exceeded every expectation. David painted our entire home after a renovation, and his attention to detail is outstanding. He was incredibly thoughtful and particular about the type of paint he used, making sure every product was the right choice for durability, finish, and overall look. He also used a higher‑quality lamb‑wool roller that made the paint application incredibly clean and even — you can see the difference immediately. At a time when we were overwhelmed with decisions, David was patient, knowledgeable, and offered clear recommendations that truly elevated the final look of our home. One of the highlights is our main railing, which he finished in a gorgeous, gloss black. Every contractor who has been in our home since has stopped to admire it and comment on how difficult it is to achieve such a flawless finish. We are thrilled with the work and highly recommend House Hues to anyone looking for quality craftsmanship.Posted on Google![]()

We recently hired House Hues to paint our office kitchen, and we couldn’t be happier with the result. From the very first consultation, Dave was professional, attentive, and eager to get our kitchen paint back to where it was. They arrived on time, treated our space with care, and worked efficiently without cutting corners. The prep work was meticulous—walls and cabinets were cleaned and sanded, and all fixtures were carefully protected. The final paint job is smooth, even, and looks absolutely professional. If you’re looking for a reliable, detail‑oriented painting company that treats your home like their own, we highly recommend House Hues for any painting project you may have.Posted on Google![]()

Owner of House Hues
A residential painting studio built on craft, not shortcuts
Meet The Founder
Behind House HUES
I started House Hues in 2019 with a clear intention: to approach painting differently. Too often, residential painting is treated as a race; rushed schedules, cut corners, and little respect for the homes people live in. That has never been how I work.
My background is in restoration work, where details aren’t optional and shortcuts don’t survive. Working on older homes teaches you quickly that quality can’t be faked. Finishes must be matched thoughtfully, materials must be chosen correctly, and preparation determines whether the work lasts years or decades. That foundation shaped how I approach every project today.
At House Hues, we specialize in interior and cabinet painting for residential homes throughout the Pittsburgh region. Whether it’s a high gloss finish, a VeroMetal application, or a straightforward interior repaint, the goal is always the same: apply the right process, the right materials, and the right level of care. As if it were my own home.
The business has grown through word of mouth and repeat clients, not volume or shortcuts. I’m not interested in being the largest painting company in Pittsburgh. I’m focused on doing work I’m proud of.
-Creating spaces people love to live in, not just live with-
[Why Us]
Why choose House Hues in Gibsonia, PA?
At House Hues, we believe a great paint job is defined less by color and more by the process behind it. Craftsmanship, preparation, and care guide every decision we make, from material selection to final application.
We approach each home with the understanding that finishes should not only look good on day one, but continue to perform and age well over time. That commitment to thoughtful execution is what our clients come back for, and what has shaped our reputation throughout the Pittsburgh region.
Quality Over Everything
Our work is defined by precision, patience, and products chosen for longevity and beauty. From Fine Paints of Europe to authentic lime and plaster finishes, we use only materials we trust to deliver results that last. We’re not chasing trends, we’re building finishes that will look exceptional years from now.
We Treat Your Home Like Our Own
Clean workspaces. Polite crews. An approach that minimizes disruption. Every detail, from prep to final brushstroke, is executed with genuine care and respect for your space. You shouldn’t have to stress about having contractors in your home.
Honest Communication, Always
We build trust through transparency. Clear communication, accurate expectations, and no hidden costs, that’s the standard we hold ourselves to. You’ll know exactly what to expect before we start, and we’ll deliver exactly what we promise.
Rooted in the Pittsburgh Area, Community Focused
A Pittsburgh area studio. Our reputation comes from word of mouth and long relationships with homeowners, designers and builders across the region, from Sewickley to the North Hills.
Our Clients Come Back
Our clients don’t just recommend us, they return to us. Their words reflect the pride we take in delivering not just a beautiful finish, but an experience that feels effortless and professional. Check our reviews and you’ll see what we mean.
We Stand Behind Our Work
Every project we complete carries our personal assurance of satisfaction. We stand behind our work, not with a formality, but with our name. Because integrity is the real finish coat that never fades.
Investment in Excellence
We’re not the cheapest, we’re the most deliberate. Every dollar you invest goes toward craftsmanship, materials, and a process that ensures your home looks exceptional today, tomorrow, and ten years from now. Quality costs more upfront, but it pays for itself in longevity and peace of mind.
Interior Painting in Gibsonia, PA
Many Gibsonia homes are newer construction: drywall, painted or stained trim, and open great rooms and foyers that rise through both floors. A good interior repaint here comes down to the details you see every day.
Walls: patching, sanding and spot priming, so nail pops and old repairs don’t show through the new color.
Trim and doors: cleaned, sanded and finished in a hard enamel, brushed for a crisp line where walls meet trim.
Tall rooms: proper staging for great rooms and stairwells, not a ladder leaned against fresh paint. More about our interior painting.
Exterior Painting and Limewash in Gibsonia, PA
Gibsonia exteriors are often brick with painted trim and siding. Trim and siding are scraped, sanded, spot primed and finished in Sherwin-Williams Duration, and we schedule around temperature and rain while protecting landscaping, walks and driveways.
For brick, a lime finish is often the better choice than paint. In 2025 we gave a red brick home in Treesdale a soft stone look with Romabio Masonry Flat, a breathable lime based mineral paint. Lime lets moisture move through the masonry instead of trapping it behind a film, so the brick keeps breathing and the finish patinas over time instead of peeling. See the Treesdale lime finish case study.
Cabinet Refinishing & High Gloss Painting in Gibsonia, PA
Solid cabinet boxes are usually better than replacements. Refinishing keeps them: doors and drawers come off and are sprayed in our shop, and the frames are finished in place. More about cabinet refinishing.
High gloss belongs in rooms where it can be seen up close, like a powder room, a library or a front door. More about high gloss.

Past Projects That Reflect Our Passion & Precision
Every home gets the same process, whatever its size. Our published case studies show it in detail: a 120 year old stucco restoration in Sewickley, a midcentury modern restoration with a high gloss powder room and a VeroMetal front door, and a lime finish on a red brick home in Treesdale. See all projects.
Painting questions from Gibsonia homeowners
Do you work in Gibsonia and Treesdale?
Yes. Gibsonia is one of our busiest markets, including Treesdale and the neighborhoods around it, and we work across the North Hills.
Is limewash better than painting brick?
Often, yes. Paint forms a film that can trap moisture and peel. Limewash soaks into the brick, lets it breathe, and weathers gradually instead of failing.
Can limewash be refreshed later?
Yes. Limewash wears softly over the years and can be renewed with another coat, without stripping the wall first.
Can you paint a two story great room?
Yes. Tall rooms and stairwells get proper staging, so walls and ceilings are reached safely and finished evenly from top to bottom.
